Done tried the shit tonight

Let me tell you what happened. I am in my black lit class. If you don’t know I am the only black person in that class. Everyone else is white. At the end of the class, this white boy says somehing that I was not really listening to at first, but then I jsut sanpped in at the wrong time.

“We are salient on labels. It like if we use labels like the ‘First Black President’ are we not enforcing stereotypes…or allowing them to enter discussion…”

What in God’s name stereotypes can actually come from First Black President? No not even that…it is in human nature to have labels, we create them to organize the world to make since of things. Pardon me, but I doubt that it was preventable for people of color not to be label based on the color of their skin…why? Well for one technology and science sure as hell was not advanced enough to do shit, also society and how it was run made it inevitable. The Victorian era had people running around looking like pasty ashy porcelain dolls, because that was the standard. Fair was the ultimate sign of beauty. They, God forbid they remember this, white people started running shit early. Once they mastered navigation, as well as fields of science, math, the industrial field, and economy, shit it was destiny. They had a standard and with power were able to enforce it. But I guess that shit is not something we all know.

Then he goes on to say: We don’t say George Washington is the First White President..

Really Bitch I wonder why…

Then this white girl wants to chime in…

She then goes on about race specific scholarships…and how there is none for white people specifically…

Does she realize that most are funded by Black Organizations…in other words, it’s our money bitch.

Probably not.

I sat there with my tongue tied. This seriously came out of no where, and if the professor hadn’t ended classes early I would have said some shit that would have hurt some feelings.

I left that class with a quickness and even pushed past the white boy…
